When “Passing Perceptions” was released in January of 2005, it heralded the arrival of a vibrant new voice in acoustic roots. On her debut CD, Canadian born performing songwriter Jennifer Lauren showcases her versatility by playing both piano and acoustic guitar. More importantly, she demonstrates her ability as a creative artist by offering the listener ten tracks of her own composition. It is little wonder that “Perceptions” has received universal acclaim, for each original song features not only Lauren’s distinctive vocals, but also intriguingly meaningful lyrics. “I have to allow myself to feel vulnerable,” says Lauren. “If I’m apprehensive about expressing a feeling, I know I have something to reveal.”
